Lexington is a quiet, picturesque town outside of Boston in Middlesex County "that prides itself on the beauty of the town and the land." First settled in 1642 as Cambridge Farms and then incorporated as a single town in 1713 it was named in honor of Lord Lexington an English nobleman. Lexington first began as a farming community, providing produce for greater Boston. It prospered with the addition of a rail line and Route 128, unprecedented population growth in 60s and 70s. It became an oasis for those seeking suburban sanctuary, to build homes, raise children and benefit from the high tech boom and the convenience of the suburbs. Condo owners now call it home as well and options are growing. Lexington is made up of a variety of sections. East Lexington is known for its blue collar neighborhoods while the rest of the town is known for its spacious, historic construction. In between all of this you will find condo conversions, multi-family structures, and single homes that take advantage of the landscape, charm and location. You will find many desirable condo choices amidst historical buildings, parks and monuments dating back to Colonial times. Despite changes Lexington is still known as a place close enough to Boston to enjoy all of its cultural and modern conveniences while offering some of its own unique choices for condo dwellers. A condo near Lexington's town center has access to a variety of restaurants, art galleries, shops, cinema, the library, The Minuteman Bikeway, Depot Square and many historical landmarks. Ideally the town's environment makes it the perfect place to buy a house or condo, offering distinct parks, conservation areas, museums, libraries and recreational options that make the most of landscapes and careful planning of the community. Condominium conversions fit into historic and newly constructed areas. Colonial and Victorian mansions have been joined by contemporary architecture to produce neighborhoods unique to Lexington. Farm homes, historic districts and abundance of land lead to condos with back yards or nestled at the edge of forests or lakes. Most Lexington condos are one, two, or three bedroom units with more than one bathroom. They are housed in detached homes, town homes, converted Colonials , etc. Most come complete with living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, laundry. dining, and master bedrooms,. Amenities can run the range from patios, pools, tennis courts,. large windows, great views, chandeliers, marble tops, refinished hardwood floors and much more. The Atlantic Ocean and White Mountains are nearby, as well as scenes from your windows. Professionals, families, and blue collar workers have all contributed in completing a profile that achieved a new degree of fame for a town that is more well known for where the shots for the first battle of the American Revolution were fired than its condo options but that's changing. Lexington today is attracting more people who want to enjoy its amenities as well as those in conveniently located Boston. Many are young or older professionals who want to enjoy the charm, convenience and the best of the suburb that once was a resort area. There is a limited inventory of condos options to enjoy for a growing population.. Residents would rather enjoy the benefits of schools, and conveniences without worrying as much about the upkeep of the house. Lexington doesn't offer as many high end condos as other areas but what is available will continue to meet demands for a growing job market in technology, health care, infrastructure and biomedical options. |
